The Month In Review

August Prompt!

This morning I dropped my son off for his first day of 1st grade. Boy, time sure is passing quickly. Take the time today (or at least soon) to document your August memories while they are fresh in your memory!

August, for many, marks the end of summer. Last days at the pool, one last camping trip before you put away the camper or tent for the season, however you spent it, document it! For August's page(s), let's see those last hurrah moments outside before back to school and back to fall.

I'm not sure yet what I want to do with my pages for August, so this month is a "scrapper's choice" - show me your favorite techniques and products. Link me up in the comments to your pages - I'd love to see how your month went!

July Prompt!

Hi folks, sorry for the delay in coming to you with July's prompt. I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to fall so life can slow down a bit (I hope!).

So when you think of July, you probably think of July 4th. Would you believe I didn't take any pictures on the 4th this year? Nope, not a one. I was busy enjoying life with my family and I don't regret it a bit. So for July let's focus on the things that mattered the most to US, not the holidays that we feel we need to focus on. What stood out for you in July? For me, I it was going to Texas for the Tally Rally, and a lot of my photos that I've picked are from that weekend.

And this month lets see some stitching on those layouts. Get out the needle and thread, the sewing machine, or your favorite pen for some faux stitches. Keep it simple or go crazy with it. I can't wait to see what you create!

I'm working on my layout and will post it when it's complete. Link me up here to a place I can see your LO by August 31, and I'll throw your name in a drawing for a little RAK!

And speaking of RAK's, I'll be sending Ashley some rub on goodness for the June RAK!

July's prompt will go up this weekend... it's "heck" week for me as the play I'm directing opens Friday so I'm busy busy busy.

July is half over already!?!

Wow, where is this month going? It seems like just yesterday school was letting out for the summer, and now the summer is half gone! I hope you're remembering to document your July in photos, I know I'm going to have a hard time choosing which ones to include when its time to do my July layout.

Start thinking about the photos you have and the memories yet to come this month that you want to preserve. I know for me it helps to start a list of things that were important to me and my family each month so that I don't for get to include them. What helps you? Think on it and use your process to keep those memories fresh.

On a housekeeping note, I'm still working on a photo gallery where we can share our layouts, but I'm having hiccups with Flikr. I will let you all know as soon as possible when and where we can share our photos with one another.

June Page Prompt

Wow, can you believe how fast June came and went? The summer is flying by, and now is the time to preserve our June memories while they are fresh in our minds.

This month, the highlight product will be rub-ons. I love rub ons, I have a mountain of rub ons, but often I'll forget to pull them out of my stash and use them. There are so many ways to use rub ons, and I will highlight a few for you in my June layout. You can apply them directly to your layout as is, you can apply them to cardstock and cut them out and apply to your layout, you can combine rub ons to create borders and word collages - there are so many ways to use them! Once you have completed your June layout, add it to the Flikr group (which I'll be getting up this weekend). Everyone who posts their layout by July 31 at midnight will be entered into a drawing for a rub ons prize pack from yours truly! So get your pictures together and put your June memories down on paper!

Hello and welcome to The Month In Review! I'm so excited to have you join me in documenting the events, big and small, that make your life yours.

The Month In Review started out at TallyScrapper.com in December 2008 as a challenge for members to celebrate the moments of their lives, one month at a time, in our scrapbooks. The pages created each month can be a part of our regular scrapbooks, or can be used to create a special, stand-alone scrapbook that chronicles a year in the life of ourselves and our families.

You may say to yourself, it's already July, it's too late to start a month in review project. I say, however, it is never too late! I hope you will give it a try and join us on this special scrapbooking journey.

Keep checking back here at the blog. I will be adding photos of my Month In Review album pages, there will be photography prompts and monthly page prompts to get you scrapping, and who knows - maybe even some prizes and contests along the way!
